Gnome Kiss Character

The Gnome can be made in any colors you wish. The hat can be plain or striped. Use your imagination!

First, cut out the pieces. You need to cut three different shapes for the Gnome.

Stitch the beard first on the front and the hair on the back. On the front, then stitch the eyes, then the skin. The nose is a French knot with the yarn twisted four times around the needle. Stitch the hat last on both back and front.

The base is stitched in the beard color.

Stitch the front and back together before stitching the base to them. I do one stitch at each side of the front in the beard color. I take a piece of beard color yarn through the space and knot it and weave in the ends. If that is too fiddly, just do that stitch in hat color.

After your Gnome is finished, squeeze his cheeks several times. That will make his hat look more rounded.

Bear Kiss Characters

Inspired by Squeezies Designs by Sue Penrod.

Bears can be made in many colors. Teddy Bear, Brown Bear and Panda Bear are pictured. Scroll down for Polar Bear. All but the Panda use the same stitch pattern.

All use the same cut outs.

First, cut out the pieces. The front and back are cut the same.

Then stitch the muzzle area. The muzzle may be stitched in the same color as the body or in a different color. I usually stitch the ears in the same color as the muzzle, but not always.

The black of the eyes and the nose are stitched next. The nose is a single stitch that goes across the center stitch of the muzzle.

Then the whites of the eyes are stitched, followed by the main color.

Then stitch the back and base.

For the Panda, stitch the black eye patches first, then the nose and ears.

The nose is one stitch up and down followed by a stitch on each side to make a v shape and then the last stitch is up and down. On the Panda, the muzzle can be stitched at the same time as the rest of the face.

The back is worked in white with the ears in black.

The base is worked in white.

The three pieces are then stitched together.
